Cooling coil instead of balloon: Storz & Bickel Plenty in an in-depth review
Share
Plenty experience: cooling coil, hand lever, and large chamber in everyday use
Our experience in the test: The Plenty looks unusual, and that is exactly how it feels in your hand: like a tool, not a gadget. After heating up, the indicator light goes out; you press the lever and draw through the cooling coil - the vapor arrives pleasantly cool and smooth. Those who embrace the handling get a device with its own character at a fair price.
The Plenty verdict upfront
- +Extra-wide filling chamber with 3.4 cm³ for substantial draws
- +Stainless steel cooling coil: smooth draw, up to 30 l/min
- +Hybrid heating with double-helix heating block
- +Hand lever heats only while drawing - gentle on the material
- +Purely electromechanical, robust, Made in Germany, TÜV-tested
- +At around 700 g, comfortable to hold
- –Not portable - a power outlet is required
- –Approximately 4.5 minutes of heating time
- –Temperature in 7 levels up to 202 °C, not precise to the degree
- –Its appearance and handling are polarizing
How to use the Plenty correctly: our practical experience
The Plenty works differently from any other device by Storz & Bickel. Here we show you how to use it best in everyday life.
A Plenty session in five steps
Alone, with two people, or when setting it down
- Its strength: a direct draw from the device
- Long, relaxed draws
- No balloon or hose needed
- Simply pass the device around
- Wide chamber for several draws
- For larger groups, go with the Volcano
- Insert the brush into the screw hole in the rubber foot
- Then the handheld device stands securely
- A small trick with a big effect
What matters with the Plenty
- The lever makes the Plenty economical: it only reheats when you press it.
- The thermometer measures the heating element - the display is a guide, not a measuring device for the chamber.
- Slow, long draws deliver significantly more flavor than rushed ones.
- Without a display or app, it is very straightforward to use every day.
Typical beginner mistakes
- Only filling the chamber halfway without a drip pad - then the material slips out of the airflow.
- Drawing too early, before the indicator light has gone out.
- Taking rushed draws and missing out on flavor as a result.
- Never clean the cooling coil.
Heater and filling chamber
The Plenty uses patented hybrid heating technology combining convection and conduction. The heating block uses a double helix that heats the air particularly efficiently and ensures remarkable temperature stability.

The extra-wide filling chamber made of stainless steel holds 3.4 cm³. Its large surface area is the key: the more material hot air can flow through at the same time, the more productive each draw will be. Important: Fill the chamber as close to the top as possible. If it is only partially filled, place a drip pad over the material so it does not slip out of the airflow when held horizontally.
- Heating system: hybrid (convection & conduction), heating block with double helix · Heating time: approx. 4.5 min to 180 °C
- Temperature: 130–202 °C via a 7-level adjustment dial, analog thermometer
- Filling chamber: 3.4 cm³, made of stainless steel, extra wide
- Airflow: up to 30 L/min using lung power, stainless steel cooling coil
- Safety: bimetallic regulator with independent temperature control, automatic shut-off, reheating via hand lever
- Design: purely electromechanical, mains-powered
- Dimensions & weight: approx. 15.5 × 20.0 × 6.0 cm, approx. 700 g · Warranty: 2 years
The cooling coil: the most distinctive component
Instead of a tube or balloon, the Plenty uses a stainless steel cooling coil that also serves as a spring-loaded mouthpiece. As the vapor travels upward, the coil noticeably cools it and provides a smooth airflow with virtually no draw resistance - up to 30 liters per minute are possible using only the power of your lungs.

Operation: thermometer, adjustment dial, and hand lever
Use the analog temperature dial with seven levels to set the heating temperature between 130 and 202 °C. A clearly visible thermometer shows the current device temperature - with no display, remote control, or app. The temperature is measured at the heating element, not in the filling chamber itself; this is due to the device's design.

After switching on, the Plenty heats up for a maximum of about four and a half minutes. Once the temperature is reached, the indicator light goes out. The automatic shut-off then interrupts air heating, and the heat lasts surprisingly long. It only reheats when you press the hand lever. This means no material goes unused between draws.
A small trick for setting it down: Slide the cleaning brush into the screw hole next to the rubber foot, then the handheld device will stand securely.
Where the Plenty fits in the Storz & Bickel range
The Plenty is the brand's mains-powered device for direct draws: a handheld device with a cooling coil, hand lever, and particularly wide chamber. It is aimed at anyone who usually vapes alone or with one other person at home and prefers drawing directly from the device rather than using a balloon.

Plenty FAQ: answered briefly
How do I fill the Plenty correctly?
Heat it with the filled chamber screwed on and fill it as close to the rim as possible. For a partial fill, place a drip pad on top. Then screw on the lid together with the cooling coil.
How do I know when the Plenty is ready?
After a maximum of approximately four and a half minutes, the indicator light on the handheld unit goes out - then you can begin.
What is the hand lever for?
The Plenty only reheats while you press the hand lever. The heater rests between draws, so the material does not vaporize unnecessarily.
What does the thermometer display?
The temperature at the heating element, not directly in the filling chamber. This is due to the design and is not a defect.
Is the Plenty suitable for concentrates?
The manufacturer specifies herbs as the intended use for the Plenty. Other devices are better suited for concentrates.
What warranty does the Plenty have?
Storz & Bickel provides a 2-year warranty on the Plenty.
Where can I find the comparison with other Storz & Bickel devices?
We have summarized all direct comparisons of the current models in the Storz & Bickel Guide.
